Fear Of Heights by Mara White

5 Stars!

Fear of Heights is book 2 in the Heights Bound Series book one was Heights Desire. These are to be read in order not as standalones. I promise you will not be disappointed with either book! Mara White is an amazing author she knows how to write a story that will keep you turning pages.
The story is told for the most part in Kate’s POV and Mara did an awesome job with it. While reading I felt like I was watching every scene un-fold before my eyes like I was an invisible bystander. I felt every emotion of the characters and even a few of my own lol!
This is one of those books that I can only say so much without spoiling it for other readers. But what I can say is if you love a good romance with plenty of twists and turns, surprising revelations, raw and intense emotional situations then this is the perfect series for you to read!

My Review

This book was unique unlike any I have read and I really enjoyed the storyline. The characters where very well written with great personalities. I love how TP brought the past into the future. Her descriptions of both time periods where intriguing.

The story is about Sabastian Ashcombe that was struck by the family curse 150 years ago and put into the mirrors of the manor. The current owner of the manor is Alex Ashcombe he his wife Christina and his son Jonathan along with servants are the occupants of the manor. Christina’s daughter Mattie comes to visit while they are on their honeymoon. Soon after arriving she starts seeing what she thinks is a reflection of a man in the mirrors but when she turns around no one is there. Then she realizes that it is not a reflection but actually a man behind the mirrors. This peaks her curiosity and she researches the history of the manor and discovers that there was a curse placed on the men in the Ahscombe family. She learns how to communicate with Bastian the man in the mirror and with the help of her Mom she works on trying to break the curse to free Bastian before time runs out.

Over all this was a great story with a mix of paranormal and history. I highly recommend reading this book even if these are not your genre of choice. Thank you TP Hogan for a on the edge of your seat read!

Live For Today

By Sandra Steiner

Lily looked over her shoulder and, seeing no one, began to relax. It was just her imagination. It had to be, didn’t it? She could not remember a time when she did not feel as though someone was watching her. Sitting on the beach watching the calm water always seemed to help to ease the panic. The waves were gently lapping against the driftwood on the beach. The sound of the seagulls was soothing. The smell of the salty ocean air was comforting. So why couldn’t she just relax? Today, it did not seem to be working. Last night the dreams had kept her awake through most of the night. If only she knew what they meant. She was so tired of them. They had plagued her for her entire life, as long as she could remember anyhow. Today was a day filled with questions, and she just wanted answers. All her life she had worked at blocking memories. Maybe it was time for her to lay her past to rest. The idea of it terrified her, and she really wasn’t sure why. She wanted to move forward in her life; it was time.

There are some shocking revelations and tense moments that had me sitting on the edge of my seat talking back to the book!

I loved how the story was written in the third person, it was like a story was being told to me and I was the recipient of all the news. There was life and feeling within all the words and the characters where loveable, ones I would like to have as my own friends.

Over all this was a heartwarming story that I recommend reading. Thank you Sandra for writing such a wonderful story.

This was my first book to read about gypsies and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading it. I like how Ms Flannery explained the folklore of the gypsies and I really liked her characters.

The main character Pril had a sister that was very powerful with gypsy magic and before she was killed she cursed the Monroe family. All of their newborn baby girls would die soon after taking their fist breath. Now the Monroe’s are out for revenge and are killing all the female children of the Peddlers. Pril is raising her sister’s daughter who is braded and know one knows but Pril and she hides her by dressing her like a boy. One of Pril’s brothers despises Pril because he and his wife have had their baby girls killed by the Monroe’s.

The Monroe’s have hired a man by the name of Kade to find the gypsy child and kill her, but the Peddler’s catch him and hold him hostage. But something kindles between Pril and Kade a slow growing love. You will have surprising revelations and betrayal.

Over all I highly recommend this book it is a good read that keeps you guessing and wondering from beginning to end!

This is a very short book that I felt lacked background into the characters. I liked the story, but would have liked to have known more about everyone.

The story is about Tally a woman that has one hell of an ex husband that her family seems to like more than they like her, all except for her grandmother and her cousin/BFF Nita. One of Tall’s relatives is getting married and it is a big thing. She needs a date to attend with her since her ex and his girlfriend will also be attending.

Nita talks Tally into talking to her elderly neighbor Gerri that runs a Paranormal dating service to try and help her to get a date but what she gets is two! And Alpha and an Omega werewolf that are looking for their mate to make them a triad.
The three together at time is comical! I was laughing at them when they were out in public together and the things that they did. I could just imagine how it would look to someone that did not understand the dynamics of the three. And the ex, man did he have some things to say about them, but good ole grandma stood up for Tally and so did the girlfriend.

Over all this was a good book with plenty of laughs I would recommend reading it and other books in this series.

5 Stars!

Time travel and historical romance all rolled up in one story! This was my first book to read on time travel and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This book was well written with amazing characters. The only problem I had was keeping them straight with the titles they had along with their actual names.

The story is about a girl named Troianne who lives with her Grandmother after her parents passed in an accident. One night two of her friends introduce her to a very handsome stranger and one thing leads to another and she finds out she is pregnant. She tries to contact the father but has no luck even her friends are not returning her calls. Her grandmother passes away about mid way through her pregnancy and she is now left alone to raise her baby. She goes into labor on a stormy night and calls a man in town to take her to the hospital. On the way they are hit by a tornado and when she awakens from being knocked unconscious she is in a horse drawn carriage in a different time period. The home she lands in front of (for a lack of a better description) is a doctor and he and his mother deliver the baby and welcome them into their home. There is a reason why she landed in that specific place and time, but I will let you read the story and see for yourself.

Over all this was a great book and I am looking forward to reading book two… yes there is more to the story.

My Review

5 Stars!

This is my first time reading anything written by Ms Smith and I have to say I loved her writing style. She kept me interested from the beginning to the end. I love the paranormal genre and it has been a long time since I read one about a ghost and I was not disappointed in any way.
The characters where are well written and believable. I love how it took place in a historical castle in England, someplace you would expect to find a ghost or two lol! The main character are the current Earl of Weymouth the owner of Stormclyffe Hall and an American history major that want to do her dissertation on the castle. Bastian Carlisle is in the process of restoring the castle when American Jayne Seyton contacts him asking to see the castle and look thorough the books on the history of the castle. She is very persistent and he finally gives in but tells her she will have no access to the personal papers of his ancestors. There is a diary that was from his great-great grandfather Richard Carlisle that falls from a shelf right in front of Jayne and she reads a little bit of it and then sticks it in her bag to read later. Well this book seems to have a mind of its own it will disappear and reappear on its own going between Bastian and Jayne. This diary ends up brining Bastian and Jayne closer together and helps to unravel the mystery behind the curse of the Carlisle men.
If you love a good ghost story mixed with some romance and history. This is the perfect book and I highly recommend reading it.

Cristy did and awesome job with this sequel and I can’t wait to read Wolf Parade!

In this book we still have Sunday, Cyrus, Angel, Marcus and Stephen. And Cristy introduces us to some new characters that I hope stay around for the next book! First we have Debbie a woman that owns a hair salon that Sunday becomes friends with, Alex Debbie’s 13 year old son and his friend Dani that is also 13 these characters I would like to see stay for awhile. We so got to meet a wolf pack from Utah and a witch that works with them that played a major role in this story too. ….. As far as the others that I will not mention the can done and gone for all I care lol!

It has been eight months since Sunday left Carolina leaving Cyrus behind. As she is driving with no particular place to go she is drawn to Salt Lake City Utah and decides to stop and check it out. For the first time in her life Sunday feels normal and free of any anxiety. She makes a friend with a lady that owns a hair salon and is set up on a blind date with her nephew and forms a non overheating relationship with him. But she keeps having reoccurring dreams of her time Cyrus, she knows he is her mate but till chose to walk away.

Cyrus on the other hand is going crazy not knowing where Sunday is. He is fighting to control his humanity and not let the wolf take over because then he would be lost forever with no humanity left. He is hell bent on finding her and goes through the pack leader Stephan to get in contact with The Pastophori of Iset the ones that originally wanted Sunday. So Cyrus, Marcos and Angel set out to Salt Lake City to the main hub of The Pastophori of Islet. This is where thing start to get hairy no pun intended lol! The wolves sense a magical presence in the air and they do not like it.

This is where I leave you to pick up a copy for yourself and see what happens!

My Review

4.5 Stars

First off I loved the cover! It was original and not made up from stock photos that everyone else is using. This is my first book read by Eliza and I really enjoyed her style and writing abilities. I am a big fan of multiple POV’s and Eliza did an amazing job with the three main characters and their personalities. I was able to read through the chapters with ease not having to go back and see who it was that was talking.

This story is full of action, determination, heart, beauty depth and warmth. The world that Eliza describes is colorful and full of many creatures of folk lore, a good thing in a fantasy book! I like her description of Daath as a 13 country that was hidden from the other countries and only thought of as a mythical place. This place is run by Lucian the villain and his people in the story.

The main character is Avikar a 17 year old boy that feels like a failure for not being able to save his younger brother and accepts his life as a stable boy to try to forget his failure. When his sister Jeslyn is kidnapped and taken by the evil Lucian a non human shape shifter. He and his best friend Derrick set out to find her and bring her home. But Avikar must battle more than Lucian he must battle his inner demons to prove to himself that he has what it takes to be a warrior.
