Twice The Growl
By Milly Taiden
This is a very short book that I felt lacked background into the characters. I liked the story, but would have liked to have known more about everyone.
The story is about Tally a woman that has one hell of an ex husband that her family seems to like more than they like her, all except for her grandmother and her cousin/BFF Nita. One of Tall’s relatives is getting married and it is a big thing. She needs a date to attend with her since her ex and his girlfriend will also be attending.
Nita talks Tally into talking to her elderly neighbor Gerri that runs a Paranormal dating service to try and help her to get a date but what she gets is two! And Alpha and an Omega werewolf that are looking for their mate to make them a triad.
The three together at time is comical! I was laughing at them when they were out in public together and the things that they did. I could just imagine how it would look to someone that did not understand the dynamics of the three. And the ex, man did he have some things to say about them, but good ole grandma stood up for Tally and so did the girlfriend.
Over all this was a good book with plenty of laughs I would recommend reading it and other books in this series.
By Crystal Miles Gauthier
Time travel and historical romance all rolled up in one story! This was my first book to read on time travel and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This book was well written with amazing characters. The only problem I had was keeping them straight with the titles they had along with their actual names.
The story is about a girl named Troianne who lives with her Grandmother after her parents passed in an accident. One night two of her friends introduce her to a very handsome stranger and one thing leads to another and she finds out she is pregnant. She tries to contact the father but has no luck even her friends are not returning her calls. Her grandmother passes away about mid way through her pregnancy and she is now left alone to raise her baby. She goes into labor on a stormy night and calls a man in town to take her to the hospital. On the way they are hit by a tornado and when she awakens from being knocked unconscious she is in a horse drawn carriage in a different time period. The home she lands in front of (for a lack of a better description) is a doctor and he and his mother deliver the baby and welcome them into their home. There is a reason why she landed in that specific place and time, but I will let you read the story and see for yourself.
Over all this was a great book and I am looking forward to reading book two… yes there is more to the story.
By Rebecca Sherwin
Rebecca Sherwin is a talented writer, she captured my attention right from the beginning.. This story had me on one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride! Rebecca made me feel like I was reading someone’s life story it all felt so real.
The story is about fraternal twins Oliver and Skye that only have each other. Their family has fallen apart and their Mother is a drunk. They both work two jobs to save money to get away. One of Oliver’s jobs is being a fighter which Skye does not know about. After an unfortunate accident Skye is now alone to survive. Curtis one of her brothers friends reveals to her that Oliver had saved up enough money for them to get away from their mother and start a new life. Skye bonds with Curtis but Curtis is hiding something and Skye is left alone again till she meets Thomas. Tall dark and handsome can Thomas save her and make her feel whole again?
The Shadows Of Stormclyffe Hall
By Lauren Smith
This is my first time reading anything written by Ms Smith and I have to say I loved her writing style. She kept me interested from the beginning to the end. I love the paranormal genre and it has been a long time since I read one about a ghost and I was not disappointed in any way.
The characters where are well written and believable. I love how it took place in a historical castle in England, someplace you would expect to find a ghost or two lol! The main character are the current Earl of Weymouth the owner of Stormclyffe Hall and an American history major that want to do her dissertation on the castle. Bastian Carlisle is in the process of restoring the castle when American Jayne Seyton contacts him asking to see the castle and look thorough the books on the history of the castle. She is very persistent and he finally gives in but tells her she will have no access to the personal papers of his ancestors. There is a diary that was from his great-great grandfather Richard Carlisle that falls from a shelf right in front of Jayne and she reads a little bit of it and then sticks it in her bag to read later. Well this book seems to have a mind of its own it will disappear and reappear on its own going between Bastian and Jayne. This diary ends up brining Bastian and Jayne closer together and helps to unravel the mystery behind the curse of the Carlisle men.
If you love a good ghost story mixed with some romance and history. This is the perfect book and I highly recommend reading it.
The Trail Of The Dead
By Crist Rey
The Pastophori of Iset has set a trap for the Incarnate…only she doesn’t know it.
Burned out from being on the road again, a directionless Sunday finds herself inexplicably drawn to Salt Lake City. There she finds herself in a curious state. For the first time in her life, Sunday feels normal. She can walk around free of anxiety that she will be set-off by her inhuman sensitivity. She can be intimate without overheating. Are the days of the Incarnate finally behind her?
Cyrus has not handled losing Sunday well. For eight months, the werewolf has been a shadow of himself. His pack is concerned and his closest friend, Marcus, believes that Cyrus is in danger of being lost to his humanity. When their Alpha confesses that the Pastophori of Iset has set a trap for Sunday, Cyrus goes into full-gear trying to get her out of it…but he has to find her first.
Cristy did and awesome job with this sequel and I can’t wait to read Wolf Parade!
In this book we still have Sunday, Cyrus, Angel, Marcus and Stephen. And Cristy introduces us to some new characters that I hope stay around for the next book! First we have Debbie a woman that owns a hair salon that Sunday becomes friends with, Alex Debbie’s 13 year old son and his friend Dani that is also 13 these characters I would like to see stay for awhile. We so got to meet a wolf pack from Utah and a witch that works with them that played a major role in this story too. ….. As far as the others that I will not mention the can done and gone for all I care lol!
It has been eight months since Sunday left Carolina leaving Cyrus behind. As she is driving with no particular place to go she is drawn to Salt Lake City Utah and decides to stop and check it out. For the first time in her life Sunday feels normal and free of any anxiety. She makes a friend with a lady that owns a hair salon and is set up on a blind date with her nephew and forms a non overheating relationship with him. But she keeps having reoccurring dreams of her time Cyrus, she knows he is her mate but till chose to walk away.
Cyrus on the other hand is going crazy not knowing where Sunday is. He is fighting to control his humanity and not let the wolf take over because then he would be lost forever with no humanity left. He is hell bent on finding her and goes through the pack leader Stephan to get in contact with The Pastophori of Iset the ones that originally wanted Sunday. So Cyrus, Marcos and Angel set out to Salt Lake City to the main hub of The Pastophori of Islet. This is where thing start to get hairy no pun intended lol! The wolves sense a magical presence in the air and they do not like it.
This is where I leave you to pick up a copy for yourself and see what happens!
Hopeless he’ll never be more than the boy who didn’t save his brother, 17-year-old Avikar accepts his life as the family stable boy, trying to forget the past. But when his sister, Jeslyn, is kidnapped, the thought of losing another sibling catapults him on a desperate quest. With his best friend by his side, and using the tracking skills he learned from his father, he discovers Jeslyn has been taken, kidnapped by one Lucino, the young lord of Daath, a mystical place thought only to exist in fables.
And Lucino has plans for Jeslyn.
His shapeshifter brethren feed off the auras of humans, and Jeslyn’s golden hue is exactly what Lucino needs to increase his power. The longer it takes Avikar to reach her, the more entranced she becomes with Lucino’s world, and the harder it will be for Avikar to set her free.
He failed his family once. He won’t fail again.
First off I loved the cover! It was original and not made up from stock photos that everyone else is using. This is my first book read by Eliza and I really enjoyed her style and writing abilities. I am a big fan of multiple POV’s and Eliza did an amazing job with the three main characters and their personalities. I was able to read through the chapters with ease not having to go back and see who it was that was talking.
This story is full of action, determination, heart, beauty depth and warmth. The world that Eliza describes is colorful and full of many creatures of folk lore, a good thing in a fantasy book! I like her description of Daath as a 13 country that was hidden from the other countries and only thought of as a mythical place. This place is run by Lucian the villain and his people in the story.
The main character is Avikar a 17 year old boy that feels like a failure for not being able to save his younger brother and accepts his life as a stable boy to try to forget his failure. When his sister Jeslyn is kidnapped and taken by the evil Lucian a non human shape shifter. He and his best friend Derrick set out to find her and bring her home. But Avikar must battle more than Lucian he must battle his inner demons to prove to himself that he has what it takes to be a warrior.
5 Big Shinny Stars!
I am so attached to this series and it is making me sad to think that there is only 3 more books left. But if I know Samantha she has another awesome series just waiting to be put onto paper. Reading this series is like watching your favorite TV series and waiting for it to come back after the season finally! Thankfully Samantha gives a recap at the beginning so that you start off fresh.
This story just keeps getting better, not fizzling off like some series can. There is so much more that can be told with this story. Samantha is doing an amazing job with keeping her readers hooked waiting for more. I have grown to feel like the characters have become my friends. I do want to see Tori have her happy ending and a new life free from murder and corruption. But at the same time I do not want the story to end.
In this book Tori is called back by Eli and the FBI to try and help to get to the Scorpions MC, one that rode with the Dragons for a while and also works for the Organization. When she is brought to the house of Brian whom we met in book 3, a famous singer from a band where a couple of murders had been committed she sees things that are familiar to her from her past that leave her wondering. And the Scorpions have left her a secret message to come find them. So Tori sets out alone leaving Michael her husband to take the survivors of the band he once guarded back to their home in Texas and wait for her. Now alone she will be going back into a past she wanted to forget by seeking out the Scorpions and find her way into the group as a trusted ally.
How will it affect Tori going back into the life she hated and ran from? Will she go back into her old self and shut out all emotions… if so will she be able to come back to reality and claim her life back with Michael.
Are ready for the ride of your life into Tori’s world? You will not want to miss this book in the series, and if you have not read the series you are missing out on a great storyline!
Looking forward to book 5 releasing next month! Again Awesome job Samantha!
Title: Kings of Asphalt
Author: Alexx Andria
My name is Zoe Delacourte. I thought I was going to build my future on the backs of Jax Traeger and Hunter Ericksen — bad boys from the wrong side of the tracks, running the notorious motorcycle club, the Kings of Asphalt — in my mind, the story had practically written itself. I was so naive. Little did I know they were going to change everything I ever knew about myself.
Jax and Hunter. I can’t even say their names without trembling.
They don’t see a fat girl or a girl who might be pretty if only she’d lose some weight. No, from the moment I walked into their club, they saw a hot, sexy woman with curves for days — and they couldn’t wait to get their hands on me.
Some people call them bad men. They see the rides and the rap sheets and they slap a label on them. I don’t care what they’ve done — all I care about is what they’re going to do to me next.
But loving them is dangerous. In fact, loving them might just get me killed.
This was my first book to read by this author and I was not disappointed. The story was well written and kept me hooked to the end.
I am not sure what to think of Zoe… is she naïve, determined or just plain stupid! I give her credit for going after what she wants even though it could cost her, her life! Then there is Jax and Hunter the Kings MC club leaders. They are suppose to be all hard core and don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves and the club. But they have a soft spot for Zoe, could it be that deep inside they wish they had, had a better start in life or want a change now. I would love to hear more about these two from their childhood to see how they got to where they are today.
The story is about a newspaper reporter named Zoe that wants to be recognized by writing something worth reading. She sets out to uncover a couple of murders of two rival motor cycle gangs. She takes this story on alone without anyone knowing what she is doing. Zoe goes undercover to the club house of the Kings of Asphalt only to find out that they mistaken her for a club whore. Zoe has only been with one man in her life and is in for a big surprise!
When Jax and Hunter the leaders of the Kings find out who she really is and what she wants they try their damndest to persuade her to stop poking around into MC business before she gets herself killed. But she does not listen to them she is hell bent on getting the story and make a name for herself. Zoe ends up figure out that there is a traitor within the gang and ends up digger deeper into the situation and puts all three of them into danger.
Over all I enjoyed this short story and found the characters likeable and it left me wanting to know more about them.
The Empress Chronicles
by Suzy Vitello

She can’t connect to her father or his young girlfriend, and past trauma adds to her sense of upheaval. The only person who seems to keep her sane is a troubled boy who is fighting his own demons. One-hundred fifty years earlier, Elisabeth of Bavaria has troubles of her own. Her childhood is coming to a crashing end, and her destiny is written in the form of a soothsaying locket that has the ability to predict true love. But evil is afoot in the form of a wicked enchantress who connives to wield the power of the locket for her own destructive ends.
When Liz finds a timeworn diary, and within it a locket, she discovers the secrets and desires of the young Bavarian princess who will one day grow up to be the legendary Empress of Austria. It is in the pages of the diary that these two heroines will meet, and it is through their interwoven story that Liz will discover she has the power to rewrite history—including her own…
Readers of books like Rachel Harris’s MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY will love THE EMPRESS CHRONICLES
This is a YA/Fantasy and I can clearly see that a young girl would love this story. I even as an adult loved the storyline, maybe I am still a young girl at heart. My genre of preference is anything paranormal and mystery suspense but this book captured my attention right from the beginning all the way through to the end. I love how the author wrote about the past and the present with the POV of two teenage girls and their lives. Suzy Viltello captured the place in time perfectly describing the two characters personality’s heartaches and joys.
We have Liz a present day teenager that is struggling with OCD and an eating disorder due to her OCD of germs. She lives with her Mother in the city and when her Mother has to go out of town for a job she is sent to live with her Father and stepmother on a goat farm in the country. Doesn’t sound like the right place for a girl with a germ phobia does it?
And then we have Sisi/Elisabeth a young girl struggling with being a teenager during times of arranged marriages in the 1800’s in Bavaria. Sisi is a tomboy/daddy’s girl who’s Mother and Aunt are trying to force her to grow up, become a lady and accept her fate to one day become the Empress of Bavaria.
The author went back and forth with the chapters between the two girls showing the parallels of their lives. Liz finds the diary and locket of Sisi in her psychiatrists office and becomes obsessed with her story.
Over all I would recommend this book for young adults and lovers of fantasy fiction books. It was a very enjoyable read with my opinion the ability to become a series to continue the story.

The race is on to find the Rebirth paranormals.
Elijah doesn’t have feelings. He doesn’t care, nor does he empathize, until the day Audrey was found. While searching her mind telepathically, things suddenly changed for him. He never imagined that he would face all the emotions plaguing him. Now he is on a mission to find the rumored Rebirth creature. What happens when a creature never meant to feel anything suddenly becomes attached to another?
Valentine always knew there was something…different about her. While she hated even the thought of blood, she loved to help those in need. She felt an instant connection with her patients and always strived to save lives. Her adoptive sister always told her that she cared too much. That she couldn’t save everyone. And now there is a colder than ice man in her life that won’t go away, and won’t take no for an answer. The problem is, she never wanted to push him away, even though she knows he will be her downfall.
First off Healed is the second book in the rebirth series so if you have not read Damaged I recommend you read it before reading Healed.
This book is about Valentine an unknown paranormal that does not know anything about her paranormal heritage. She was raised by her best friends Amani’s family, Amani herself is a paranormal that was only given information about herself on an as need to know basis. The only thing Valentine knows about herself is that she can heal animals and humans but does not know why. Elijah is a wraith a paranormal that has no ability to feel and is feared by all. He is sent to bring the unknown paranormal back to his clan before other clans can capture her.
Valentine and Elijah are exact opposites. One cares too much and the other not at all! But they begin to have a connection to one another and struggle to figure it all out. Look for plenty of twists and turns and OMGs with these two. They will have you sitting on the edge of your seat wishing you could read faster to see what is going to happen.
Over all this was a great story that was the perfect follow up to book one. I have become a big fan of Becca’s and I am looking forward to more of her stories… they just keep getting better and better! Her characters are ones you love and ones you love to hate! Awesome job Becca!
